Work set to begin on Rochdale facility

Work is set to begin on the development of Nye Bevan House, a specialist musculoskeletal (MSK) diagnostic treatment hub in Rochdale.

The £1.25m facility, backed by capital investment from Community Health Partnerships (CHP), will include a gym for patients and offices for the clinical teams.

The project includes an internal reconfiguration of the existing four-storey building, which was completed in 2008, as part of a collaboration between Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale CCG, BRAHM LIFT, BRAHM FundCo 1, Eric Wright Construction, and Eric Wright Facilities Management.

Work will start in the coming weeks and is expected to be completed early next spring.

The works will be split into three phases, with each phase sectioned off with diversions in place for access to corridors.

This variation will reconfigure space on the ground floor and second floor for a musculoskeletal (MSK) diagnostic and treatment suite.

The alteration of the ground floor space will allow greater flexibility and increased privacy for patients.

Consulting rooms will also be constructed on the ground floor, which is currently an open-plan physiotherapy area.

Reconfiguring the space on the second floor means the whole floor is fully utilised.

And the InHealth Pain Service will also move into the new areas at Nye Bevan House from outdated accommodation.
